CAROL GRAY

Best known for developing Social Stories, Carol Gray supports individuals with diagnosed with autism, their families, and professionals who work on their behalf via presentations, resource development, and direct services. She enjoys writing free, downloadable Social Stories on an ongoing basis in response to current events as a part of Carol’s Club on her website, CarolGraySocialStories.com. Carol lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with her husband, Brian, and three basset hounds, Hank, Emma, and Alf.

“The most unique thing about me, at least according to me, is that I predicted my married name in high school. When I would talk with friends about what I wanted to do after graduation, I told them that I wanted to write children’s books and my pen name would be Carol Gray.”

Barry and Dave chat with Carol about her influential career and her philosophy about educating students on the autism spectrum. The purposes and the appropriate use of Social Stories, as well as how Social Stories have been misused are reviewed in a lively discussion.
